Background
The Dragon and his descendants resided in the Great Temple, where Eurys eventually became a personal attendant. The Dragon was powerful enough to build a vast empire, yet he did not personally defeat Azarax (according to Azarax); instead, his empire rose from the ruins left after a War Maiden, acting under a divine covenant, destroyed Azarax's forces. Despite his might, the Dragon was ultimately killed by Eurys, who, though only a Transcendent at the time, used the Slaying Blade, the blade of Death, to end him.[2]
Trivia
- According to Azarax, the succeeding avatar of War God present during the Doom War was too young, because the previous avatar had existed earlier and established the War Empire itself. However, Azarax dismissed the Dragon as merely a cheap imitation, claiming that the Dragon had imitated him instead. He further explained that although his own empire had once conquered countless realms, it was eventually destroyed by a champion of War God. From the ruins of Azarax's fallen empire, the War Empire was then created in its image and ruled by the avatar of War God for a thousand years.[1]
- It was suspected by Nephis based on the recount of Azarax that Dragon was Divine by the end of the Golden Age.[2]
