Crystal Wasps

As dawn breaks, Kai observes ominous movements from the three northern mountains. On the eastern mountain, a clockwork giant awakens, ice falling from its joints as it reaches for a massive sword. On the western mountain, a colossal snow worm emerges, beginning to slither out of a tunnel. On the central mountain, directly facing them, a crystalline insect hive erupts into activity as swarms of insects awaken and begin clearing ice-blocked entrances. Sunny deduces that each of these monstrous forces is targeting a different objective: the clockwork giant likely heading for the eastern volcano, the snow worm for the western one, and the crystalline swarm for their own position at the Ash Castle.[1]

As the monstrous Ice Hive closed in on the volcano, Sunny realized that Kai and Slayer's efforts wouldn't be enough to stop the swarm of crystalline abominations. With only seconds to act, he pulled Slayer into the shadows and warned Kai just before a massive explosion engulfed the mountainside.[2] Sunny, Kai, and Slayer narrowly survived another devastating light attack from the crystalline swarm and realized their current strategy wouldn't be enough to stop the approaching horde. After sensing a powerful, unknown presence in the shadows blocking his attempt to retrieve a Beast's corpse, Sunny concluded that the battle followed strange rules—so he ordered a retreat to the Ash Castle while unleashing a barrage of shadow spikes to cover their escape.[3]

As crystalline beasts besieged the Ash Castle, Sunny sealed all entrances with shadow to buy time and devised a last-stand defense strategy, with himself taking the frontline while Kai and Slayer supported from behind. Despite his powerful abilities and multitasking mind, he sensed a critical detail eluding him—one he had to uncover quickly as the gate finally gave way and he charged into battle.[4] Sunny, now in his powerful Shadowspawn form, fiercely battles the invading Crystal Wasps inside the Ash Castle, slaying several with brutal efficiency but quickly realizing the shadow barricade can't hold against the endless swarm. Noticing the Wasps are weaker than before and suspecting this is only a probing force, he prepares to strategically retreat deeper into the keep regrouping and fortify for the true assault still to come.[5]

Sunny battles a swarm of Crystal Wasps at the Ash Castle, gradually realizing that the ash-covered territory weakens the enemies due to the rules of the Death Game. Despite his superior mobility and the support of allies like Kai and Slayer, the overwhelming number of Great Beasts breaches the castle's defenses. Just as the situation becomes dire and the upper seal collapses, Sunny regroups with his allies, has a final moment of clarity, and boldly declares his plan to destroy all the invading creatures.[6]

Trapped on the volcano and outnumbered by Crystal Wasps, Sunny initially despaired at their chances against the Ice Hive but then realized he had been relying too much on brute strength instead of strategy. Remembering that slain enemies still contributed shades to his Soul Sea, he activated his Supreme Ability to summon newly acquired shades—Obsidian Wasps (shades formed by ash, their bodies resembling volcanic glass)—to fight back. With this army of ash and renewed resolve, Sunny and his allies turned the tide of battle, forcing the remaining Crystal Wasps to retreat as dawn broke and the magical bridges connecting the mountains vanished, marking the end of the enemy's move.[7] At dawn, the Snow Domain expands, conquering two more volcanoes and leaving the Ash Castle as the last unconquered square, confirming that Snow figures move at dawn while Ash figures likely move at dusk.[8]

Sunny reflects on his arrogance and jokes about his modest ambitions—including becoming a god—while bonding with Kai and revealing how Aiko, Kai's former manager, rose to power under his employ. Meanwhile, Sunny enlists Slayer's help to craft weapons from the Crystal Wasp remains, paying her with his own blood.[9]

As the sun began to set over a blood-red sea of clouds, Sunny assessed his forces in preparation for battle. Despite having a powerful army that included a Saint, a Transcendent Shadow, and two dozen Supreme shades, it was the Ash Beasts, Kai and Slayer, who proved more formidable in combat. Sunny reviewed the mysterious map of Ariel's Game, troubled by two unanswered questions: the function of the central square and the movement limitations of enemy figures. Assuming figures could only move one square at a time, he devised a strategy to reach the unguarded Western Shrine — likely the Shrine of Truth — before the enemy could. However, the Ash Castle was surrounded by three Snow Beasts, and to break free, Sunny had to destroy one. Though reluctant, he chose to eliminate the Ice Hive, the least dangerous of the three, to prevent a pincer attack from stronger foes. As he readied his team, the volcano roared and sent clouds of ash sweeping across the sky, signaling the beginning of the battle. Sunny, determined and resolved, prepared to carve a path through the Ice Hive and move toward the Shrine of Truth.[10]

Sunny and his team crossed the obsidian bridge to attack the Ice Hive but were severely weakened by the Snow Domain's suppressive effect, rendering their original ranged strategy ineffective. Realizing time was running out, Sunny abandoned the plan and infiltrated the Hive alone, leaving Kai and Slayer behind to ensure no enemies escaped as he launched a direct assault.[11] Despite being weakened by the Snow Domain, Sunny infiltrated the Ice Hive alone and used his intelligence, mobility, and mastery of shadow manipulation to isolate and ambush the Crystal Wasps one by one. Relying on strategy over brute strength, he began eliminating the Great Beasts methodically.[12] After defeating all fifty Crystal Wasps and claiming the Snow Beast figurine, Sunny returned to his companions just as the sun set — triggering a massive eruption that obliterated the mountain and transformed it into a volcano. Calmly shielding them from the destruction with shadows, he then created a shelter for the night, marking their victory with a drink and a rare moment of rest.[13]

Sunny spent the day idly reshaping shadows into a grand manor and a garden of black roses, even managing to turn one rose red—a feat that strained him more than building the entire manor. In a reflective conversation with Kai, Sunny shared his philosophy on power and Supremacy, encouraging Kai to embrace his strength, just before they discovered a massive, world-defying tree where a mountain should have been.[14]

Snow Worm

Sunny, Kai, and Slayer encountered a colossal, snow-covered tree that might be the core of their artificial world—possibly a sapling of the legendary world tree—leading Sunny to warn Kai not to look inside it. As they prepared for battle, they spotted a mysterious Snow Devil guarding the central square, and Sunny realized with unease that the Snow Tyrant was not only controlling the Snow figures, but doing so with chilling strategy.[15] As sunset neared, they prepared to battle the Snow Worm and kill it before nightfall.[16]

Sunny dashed across the obsidian bridge as Kai and Slayer unleashed a barrage of specially enchanted arrows to suppress the Snow Worm's infinite growth, buying time for Sunny to confront the colossal Cursed Beast directly. Rising in his towering Shadow Colossus form, Sunny readied his massive odachi just as the Worm unleashed a terrifying wail. He also summoned a swarm of ghostly wasps to protect himself.[17] The Snow Worm demonstrated overwhelming destructive power, capable of physically overwhelming Sunny despite his strength and attacks, while its immense size and regenerative abilities made it nearly indestructible. Using precise control of his Obsidian Wasps and enchanted arrows, Sunny strategically targeted the creature's wounds and shadow to weaken it, racing against time to kill the Cursed Beast before nightfall.[18]

Sunny battled the colossal Snow Worm by using his agility and mastery of shadow and death to evade its immense, overwhelming attacks while gradually poisoning its vast soul with his killing intent. Though physically outmatched, Sunny's strategic use of focused Will allowed him to exploit the creature's brute-force simplicity and aim for its eventual demise through both soul corrosion and physical destruction.[19] He defeated the colossal Snow Worm through a meticulous strategy: using Obsidian Wasps to ravage it from within, arrows to bind and wound it, and his own soul-corrupting Will to poison its essence. As the battle wore on and the Cursed Beast's infinite power destabilized, it shrank to a pitiful size—until Sunny crushed its final form, a tiny maggot, underfoot just as night fell, marking his first kill of a Cursed One.[20]

Sunny observed that the Snow Devil's unexpected passivity gave him the initiative to reach the Shrine of Truth first, though he suspected hidden Snow forces were mobilizing for a coordinated attack. While waiting to face the coming battles, Sunny and Kai struggled to find the precious Snow Beast figure buried in the volcano, prompting Sunny to summon a massive shadow worm to speed up the search.[21]

Snow Wolves & Clockwork Giant

On the northern slope of the volcano, Slayer engaged a pack of elusive Great Beasts—grotesque wolves that intermittently dissolved into snow, making them difficult targets. Despite her efforts, Sunny noted the absence of new shades entering his soul, indicating that none of the wolves had been slain yet.[22]

Simultaneously, on the eastern slope, Kai employed a unique enchanted arrow imbued with his voice to communicate commands from a distance. This arrow struck the Clockwork Giant but failed to inflict any damage, as anticipated by Sunny, due to the giant's formidable resilience.[22]

Meanwhile, Sunny refrained from attacking the Snow Demon advancing across the glass bridge. Instead, he observed the approaching blizzards, their presence evoking memories of the Winter Beast and stirring a deep-seated animosity within him. He is confronting the corpse of an enormous wolf, its rotten fur white as snow and desiccated hide pierced by numerous crude spears. This Cursed monstrosity, potentially the leader or deity of the wolf pack, possessed three eyes burning with malevolent crimson flames.[22]

As the massive wolf—a Cursed Demon—lunged at Sunny, reality seemed to warp under its violent power. Sunny, however, asserted his control over the volcanic domain, using his authority as a Sovereign Titan to resist the creature's advance. His Obsidian Wasps rushed in to intercept the demon, but were decimated when the wolf exploded into a deadly blizzard.[23]

In retaliation, Sunny called back his remaining shades and triggered geysers of lava to disrupt the Snow Demon. The creature reformed and continued its assault, killing more Wasps. Sunny used the brief reprieve to think.[23]

He reflected that Cursed Nightmare Creatures often embodied concepts—like the Snow Worm had with "Abundance"—and wondered what concept the wolf represented. He realized it might simply embody "the Wolf", the original predator, and considered that its strength lay in the pack. Just then, a chorus of howls rose from the other side of the volcano, revealing that the wolf's pack—the Snow Wolves—was nearby. Alarmed, Sunny realized he had to stop the demon from reuniting with them.[23]

Finally, he reshaped his weapon into a spear, dismissed most of his armor, and prepared to face the Wolf as its natural adversary: the hunter.[23]

A massive battle unfolds on the Shrine of Truth volcano in Ariel's Game, involving powerful beings and causing unprecedented destruction. The terrain, once nearly indestructible, is torn apart by the chaos.[24]

  • Southern Slope: Sunny and the Wolf engage in a devastating battle, creating a whirlwind of destruction that scars the mountain and spills lava into the surrounding clouds.[24]
  • Northern Slope: The Snow Wolves attempt to bypass the Obsidian Wasps to reach Slayer. The Wasps use their wings to halt the wolves' advance, forcing them into direct combat. Though the Snow Wolves are stronger individually, the Wasps hold their ground through coordination under Sunny's control. This delay allows Slayer to fatally shoot one of the wolves.[24]
  • Eastern Slope: The Clockwork Giant battles the monstrous worm Abundance. The giant inflicts a massive wound but is buried under the worm's body. However, he carves his way out. Just as he re-emerges, Kai empowered by Sunny's will — uses his voice to command the worm to crush the giant, making the battle even more brutal.[24]

Sunny is grievously wounded in his brutal battle against the monstrous Wolf on the volcano's southern slope. Despite his injuries and the Wolf's terrifying power, he resists being reduced to mere prey, using his finely honed Will and the essence of a hunter to fight back with precision and determination. He attacks the Wolf with a spear, lava, ash, shadows, and summoned Wasps, inflicting deep wounds while making every movement costly for the fiend. When Sunny is nearly caught in the Wolf's jaws, he turns into a formless shadow, entangles the beast, and uses ancient flint spears embedded in its body to stab it relentlessly with a hundred shadowy hands. Though both suffer terrible damage, Sunny knows the Wolf would likely outlast him in a war of attrition. Meanwhile, the rest of the battlefield deteriorates—Kai and Abundance clash on the eastern slope, Slayer slays more Snow Wolves in the north, and the terrain of the volcano is utterly devastated. As the mountain teeters on the edge of collapse, Sunny, though consumed by pain and fury, remains cold and calculating—he knows the real weapon of a hunter isn't strength, but a trap.[25]

Sunny, though wounded, had been fighting with calculated precision using a spear, while the Wolf, much more damaged, relied on brute fury and its body, making it more vulnerable. Anticipating his eventual disadvantage, Sunny had secretly enchanted the volcano with devastating spells derived from the Patient Avenger, allowing it to absorb and unleash damage as a catastrophic trap. At the critical moment, he retreated with his allies to the Shrine of Truth, leaving the Wolf behind on the volcano's surface, and activated the spell to trigger its annihilation.[26]

Sunny triggered a cataclysmic enchantment that turned the entire volcano into a weapon of divine destruction, obliterating the Cursed Demon Wolf, the Snow Wolves, and even the surrounding landscape in a blinding eruption of fire and molten rock. Amid the devastation, the Shrine of Truth barely survived, and as Sunny rose from the scorched temple floor, he saw the jade figurines appear and realized, battered and bloodied, that they had won.[27]

Sunny, though battered and soul-wounded, took grim satisfaction in surviving and defeating the Cursed Demon Wolf, recognizing that his victory was the result of careful planning, not mere luck. As he rested in the cooling shadows and surveyed the lava-filled remains of the battlefield, he turned his thoughts to the three jade figurines.[28]

Sunny sacrificed jade Beast figurines to empower Kai and Slayer, then chose to toss the Snow Demon figure into lava to gain knowledge instead of power, hoping to uncover truths about the world's end and Weaver's actions. During this, Kai reported glimpsing a mysterious silver thread on a Demon, hinting at possible puppet-like control by the Snow Tyrant.[29]

Snow Demon

At dawn, the Cursed Demon and two Cursed Monsters, former defenders of the Shrine of Fear, attacked the Shrine of Truth. Sunny, weakened from a previous battle, considered using the fragile crust of the nearby cooled lava lake to drag the Demon into the molten depths, though it was risky.[30] Realizing he was too injured to fight directly, Sunny planned instead to empower others by merging with the powerful shade of the Wolf to replicate its strength, while Slayer, Kai, and others would handle the Cursed Monsters.[30] Observing from the shrine rooftop, Kai confirmed the enemy's identity as a Demon but suddenly fell silent and spoke in an eerie tongue that affected Sunny's mind, just as Slayer drew her swords and darkness overtook them.[30] Sunny later awoke in severe pain, missing his right arm, riddled with wounds and arrows, being dragged across the lava-flooded, tilted Shrine of Truth by a wounded Slayer.[31] He realized Slayer had shot him with enchanted arrows meant to immobilize, implying she was trying to stop him rather than kill, while his missing arm had been severed by something else. The scene had changed drastically: it was now night, and two days had passed unknown to him.[31] Kai was found gagged and pinned by arrows but alive. Slayer silently revealed that Sunny and Kai had lost two days of memory, suggesting the battle had already happened but the outcome remained unclear.[31]

Two days later, the three Snow Domain figures again besieged the Shrine of Truth but failed. Sunny, Kai, and Slayer survived, though Sunny and Kai suffered mental effects and memory loss. Slayer, apparently resistant, had restrained them with arrows and a gag, implying they may have been manipulated and fought against her and others during the lost time. The shrine was shattered and half submerged in lava, surrounded by eerie volcanic rock formations. The Snow Demon and Monsters were dead, but how remained unknown. Sunny was troubled by the mysterious nature of their foe, a powerful Cursed Demon that had overcome his usually strong mental defenses. The mystery of what truly happened and how the enemies died remained unresolved, possibly forever.[32]

Sunny and Kai investigated the aftermath while Slayer refused to speak. Sunny found his essence depleted, his shades destroyed, and his arm missing, yet the Snow Demon and two Cursed Monsters were dead.[33] However, none of their soul shards were in Sunny's possession, indicating neither he nor Slayer had killed them. They found one Monster's mutilated corpse torn in half and frozen in terror, but the other Monster and the Snow Demon were missing.[33] Sunny discovered his severed arm clutching a thin, black string, possibly connected to the Snow Tyrant's control. He suspected he had tried severing a mind-control thread, partially resisting the Demon's influence. He theorized the Snow Demon was a Mind Demon—an idea or will rather than flesh or spirit—that possessed and manipulated others, including Sunny and Kai until Slayer intervened. Though they survived, neither knew how the Demon and Monsters died, leaving their victory shrouded in fear and uncertainty.[33]

Swarm of Rats

Sunny, Kai, and Slayer had prepared to invade the Snow Domain once more, with Slayer newly empowered by the third blessing of ash. As Sunny merged with his deadly Shadow, he reflected on her cold purity and the chilling nature of divinity, choosing to guide her in battle rather than fight himself. Their assault began when they emerged on the snowy mountainside and were immediately confronted by a corrupted swarm of monstrous rats.[34]

Sunny initially struggled to adapt to Slayer's heightened senses and the overwhelming onslaught of cursed rats, especially under the distortion caused by the Cursed Beast's Will and Ariel's Game. As Slayer fought with deadly grace and powerful enchantments, she annihilated thousands of rats in a single slash — only for the swarm to grow larger as the fallen were instantly consumed and replaced. This horrifying regeneration confirmed Sunny's suspicion: the Rat King's essence was rooted in multiplication, making the battle seemingly unwinnable.[35]

Sunny and Slayer fought through an endless swarm of cursed, multiplying rats, with Slayer carving bloody paths and Kai triggering explosive arrows to create brief safe zones. Despite their efforts, the rats continued to grow in number, feeding on the dead and overwhelming the mountain, leaving Sunny unsure of how to counter the Rat King's multiplying essence. With no clear way to win and needing the mountain intact to avoid a greater threat, Sunny placed his hope in Kai, who was tasked with uncovering and severing the Tyrant's control over the Cursed Beast.[36]

Sunny realized the Rat King wasn't a mindless swarm, but a coordinated horde controlled by a single Will — likely funneled through one original rat hidden among millions. He entrusted Kai with finding that thread of control while he and Slayer fought desperately to survive, cutting paths through the ever-growing swarm with brutal precision. As Slayer danced her deadly ballet, holding off the horde with unmatched determination and skill, Sunny could only hope Kai would find the target before they were overwhelmed.[37]

Sunny realized the Rat King was not a mindless swarm but a unified entity controlled by a single rat, which Kai could find by tracing the Snow Tyrant's invisible string. As Slayer fought through the growing horde with terrifying grace and deadly resolve, Sunny guided her in hopes that they could survive long enough for Kai to locate and eliminate the source.[38]

As the battle neared its end, Kai unleashed the full power of his enchanted bow to strike the progenitor rat, shattering the mountain peak and severing the Rat King's control. With the source destroyed, the swarm descended into chaos, losing its unity and ceasing to grow—allowing Sunny, Slayer, and Kai to annihilate the remnants and secure victory before nightfall.[39]

After slaying the Rat King and surviving the battle, Sunny, Slayer, and Kai regroup amid the wreckage, reflecting on the surreal normalcy of killing a god. As Sunny humorously feasts on cursed rat meat, the trio braces for the final act of Ariel's Game, knowing the true end is yet to come.[40]

White Dragon & Tree Devil

Sunny had strategically baited the Snow Domain's remaining Devils, successfully luring them away from his path to the Snow Tyrant and clearing the way for a final confrontation. With Slayer left as a decoy and the dragon misdirected, Sunny celebrated his cunning maneuver, confident that victory in Ariel's Game was now within reach.[41]

Sunny and Kai, weary but alive, prepared for their final confrontation with the Snow Tyrant, choosing caution over ambition by staying together rather than splitting up to expand the Ash Domain. As the dragon and Tree Devil continued their pursuit, the two companions pressed forward, knowing that the only path left was through victory — or death.[42]

The Axis Tree, a vast and ancient structure towering above the highest peaks, appeared dead and broken, its massive branches bare and wounded by a dark portal leaking amber sap—the lifeblood of the tree. Sunny and Kai explored this desolate labyrinth, realizing that the Tree Devil might have killed the Axis Tree long ago by draining its vitality, rendering the central square of Ariel's Game purposeless and symbolizing that even great, dreadful creations like the Nightmare Spell could one day be destroyed. This realization gave Sunny a hopeful sense that their own struggle against the Spell was not impossible.[43]

Snow Tyrant

Sunny, still recovering from his wounds and wary of risking battles he was not ready for, decided to avoid fighting the Snow Devils prematurely and focused on healing while moving cautiously toward the Snow Castle. Upon reaching the last mountain before the castle, he and Kai encountered a vast, eerie black web of countless fine silk threads—an ominous sign linked to the mysterious Demon of Fate, Weaver—filling the northern landscape and hinting at a deeper, unsettling threat ahead.[44]

At dawn, Sunny and Kai faced a chilling landscape shrouded in endless black silk webs, a sinister veil linked to the Snow Tyrant looming ahead. Racing against time, Sunny crafted a powerful star-shaped charm from golden amber and sacred soul shards to aid in the imminent battle, while observing that the obsidian bridge to the Snow Castle had failed to form, forcing them to fly across the eerie sea of silk. At last, they beheld the Snow Tyrant itself—a colossal, malevolent black moth known as the Puppeteer, a nightmarish creature born from corrupted human minds and shrouded in dread and familiarity.[45]

Sunny and Kai prepared for their upcoming battle against the Snow Tyrant, a giant Puppeteer Moth that manipulated doubt to control others. While the creature was physically large and menacing, Sunny believed it relied heavily on mind manipulation and its thralls, which they had mostly eliminated, giving them a strategic advantage. However, the real danger lay in resisting the Puppeteer's power to sow doubt and subjugate their minds—a challenge especially threatening to Sunny himself.[46]

Sunny revealed to Kai that despite being a powerful Supreme, he was deeply vulnerable to the Puppeteer's mind-manipulating attacks because of his internal doubts and contradictions. He asked Kai to help "bring him back" if he lost himself in the battle by reciting the names of those closest to him, which served as anchors to his identity. As dawn approached and the Puppeteer prepared to strike, Sunny planned to knock Kai unconscious to shield him from the mental assault.[47]

Sunny endured a powerful mental assault from the Puppeteer while weaving the Sacred Memory known as the Evening Star, skillfully isolating parts of his mind to resist the attack until it subsided at sunrise. Throughout the day, his allies recovered—Kai woke up, the Wolf healed, and Slayer reemerged, prompting Sunny to question her past actions and identity. After completing the Evening Star and integrating it into his armor, Sunny prepared to leave the cursed place with his companions as the obsidian bridge to the Snow Castle formed. With a final glance at the ominous horizon, Sunny stepped onto the bridge, ready to face the coming battle.[48]

Sunny approached the looming Snow Castle, empowered by Evening Star and cloaked in deepening shadow, he braced for a brutal confrontation with the eerie, titanic Puppeteer—only to be met not with violence, but with a soft, unsettling voice that greeted him as a long-awaited liberator.[49] He confronted the immense, soft-spoken Puppeteer atop the mountain, their eerie dialogue revealed a chilling philosophical divide—one born from the Void's alien influence versus the Flame's existential laws—forcing Sunny to question the nature of conflict, identity, and whether their enmity was truly a choice or an inevitable clash of worlds.[50] He is unsettled as the titanic, soft-spoken Puppeteer begins a philosophical dialogue, challenging the labels of "Corruption" and "evil," and suggesting that their enmity stems not from malice but from a fundamental, tragic divide between beings of the Void and those of the Flame.[51]

Sunny initially scoffs at the Puppeteer's philosophical musings about shared suffering and the cruelty of existence, but as their eerie dialogue unfolds, he's shaken by the realization that both of them—human and Nightmare Creature—are prisoners of a consuming Flame born of desire, manipulated by treacherous gods, and now on an inevitable collision course as the Puppeteer's true, terrifying intent is finally revealed.[52]

Sunny, on the verge of losing his mind to the Puppeteer's control, clung to a single thought: the overwhelming need to kill it. As the oppressive strings of doubt bound his thoughts and Kai lay immobilized, Sunny realized he could not win with conventional tactics. Desperate, he bypassed the rules of Ariel's Game by expelling the immense, uncontrollable shade of Condemnation from his soul, betting everything on its unpredictability. Because Condemnation could not be commanded, neither Sunny nor the Puppeteer could control it, making the arrival of this third Tyrant a wild, potentially game-changing force in the looming clash.[53]

Condemnation emerged and began to ascend a snow-covered peak, drawing the attention of the ominous Puppeteer. As the two tyrants clashed with earth-shattering force, the mountain groaned and fractured under the weight of their battle. Though Condemnation struck back, the Puppeteer ensnared it with vast tendrils of black silk, binding its limbs and suppressing its power. Amid the chaos, Sunny, trapped by the Puppeteer's Strings of Doubt, saw a fleeting chance to escape while the two titans fought.[54]

While Condemnation clashed with the Puppeteer, Sunny battled the despairing grip of the Tyrant's control, ultimately rejecting surrender and reigniting his will to fight, buying time until Slayer severed his bindings—freeing him to rise again, fueled by pain, defiance, and the unwavering desire to live.[55] Sunny realizes that the rogue giant will ultimately be consumed and annihilated. Struggling against the invisible strings of mental domination, he understands that he cannot win in his current form and must rely only on himself. Drawing upon the painful memories, insights, and techniques he had once feared, Sunny embraces the perilous Fifth Step of Shadow Dance to assume the form and indomitable nature of the Stone Saint in order to break free and gain the power to slay the Puppeteer.[56]

Sunny fully embodied the essence of a Stone Saint—both in form and spirit—by mastering the Fifth Step of Shadow Dance through his deep connection with Saint, becoming a Supreme Titan of shadow and divine fire, but realizing something was missing until he armed himself and declared his readiness for battle.[57]

Sunny summons his powerful Sacred Shade, the Shadow Wolf, to aid him in battle while Condemnation, the Cursed Tyrant’s shade, begins to collapse. Realizing the urgency as sunset nears, Sunny commands Kai and Slayer to bring down the airborne Puppeteer, knowing that defeating it in the air would be difficult without support. As Kai takes flight with Slayer on his back, Sunny targets Condemnation’s reforming form and sends the Wolf to attack it while hurling his shield at the Puppeteer to create an opening. The distraction works, allowing his allies to strike the monstrous moth with a sonic blast and a deadly arrow.[58]

Despite the Puppeteer's formidable power, Sunny and his companions—each uniquely resistant to its manipulative abilities—brought it down through a coordinated assault, but just as Sunny, fully transformed into the Stone Saint, was about to strike the final blow, time froze and the Puppeteer questioned his intent, forcing him to confront a forgotten reason for his ruthless determination.[59]

The Stone Saint hesitated to strike the kneeling Puppeteer, who tried to persuade him that they were both beings of the Void and shared a greater enemy in the gods. For a moment, the argument almost swayed him—until he remembered that the Spirit of Doubt had allied with Weaver, the traitorous Demon of Fate. With that final realization, he shattered the moth's time manipulation by exploiting its strain, allowing time to resume. Though the Puppeteer wounded him gravely, the Stone Saint caught his falling shield and decapitated the Tyrant with a crushing blow, ending the battle and silencing the Spirit of Doubt forever.[60]

After slaying the Spirit of Doubt, the Stone Saint—Sunny—felt strangely unsettled, as though the battle wasn't truly over. As his companions approached, he mistook them for enemies and began attacking, still caught in the persona of the Jade Titan. Only when Kai, in dragon form, called out the names of their fallen friends did Sunny begin to remember who he truly was. Shaken but restored to himself, he dismissed the Saint's form, realizing how close he had come to losing his identity entirely. With the Puppeteer dead and the world unraveling, Sunny and Kai rushed onward—the end of the Death Game drawing near.[61]

After defeating the Snow Tyrant and sensing the realm beginning to reject him, Sunny rushed to retrieve his prize — the jade figurine tied to Weaver's Lineage — before being expelled from Ariel's Game. Despite immense pain and exhaustion, he and Kai discovered the figurines and reached the icy heart of the Snow Castle. Sunny offered Kai a powerful relic, but Kai declined, saying he had learned all he needed. With both figurines cast into a dark pit, Sunny braced himself to receive the agonizing reward tied to his destiny.[62]
