Herrmann Schmidt

Before the Tutorial, he worked as a foreman in a steelworks and chose the hammer as his weapon during the Introduction.

Herrmann along with his son and daughter in law spawned in the Tutorial together. They joined Richard's group after Richard's encounter with Jake. Richard and his men disregarded the three and when Herrmann was away, they killed his son and daughter in law. Herrman kept his hatred hidden throughout most of the Tutorial, waiting to get back at Richard once he had enough strength. He chose to become a Smith instead of a fighter in order to avoid getting under Richard's radar.

At some point, he was met and blessed by Camicus and learnt that William was rejecting Ferroras's class.

Later William started working with Herrmann in order to level his Profession as it was no longer viable to level from killing humans. Since his son and William were of similar age, he treated William almost like his own son.

On the fated day when Richard and his group decided to wipe out Hayden's Camp, he told about his family's tragedy and also told him about Gods including the one who blessed him. Herrmann then sacrificed himself to create Expanding Armor of Herrmann Schmidt (Epic) for William which he gifted in exchange for him to avenge his family.
