Arthur

Father of Jacob and Peter. Pre-system integration Arthur was a ruthless but successful business leader. Not long after the beginning of the tutorials, he felt compelled to step in to quell the chaos and organize the members of the tutorial, increasing their odds of survival. Post-integration, Arthur has served as the former leader of United City Alliance, now a minister of the World Council, and also the City Owner of Puddlerock.

Arthur has a strong aversion towards multiversal factions, particularly those revolving around the Divine. This stems from his time during the tutorials where two feuding gods decided to wage proxy war via the tutorial participants, unleashing chaos onto what had previously been a relatively calm and peaceful event. ^[1]Ultimately, for the safety of the majority, Arthur had to crack down on anyone who veered into fanaticism at the behest of their religious faction. As most people wanted to focus on defending their impromptu settlements from beasts and elementals, religious fanatics killing defenders for refusing to convert were quickly exiled. Fear of being cast out into the unknown caused many to renounce their blessings and denounce their former patrons.

During this time, Arthur was so deeply suspicious of Divine influence that he even developed a lie detection skill that allowed him to identify whether or not a person had a blessing, key in allowing him to weed out anyone trying to sneakily sow dissension to increase their faction's influence.

Following the end of the tutorial, Arthur considered joining the Holy Church since his son, Jacob, was leading it. ^[1]However, he found the Church's goal, total domination of the 93rd Universe, even at the cost of genocide and cultural annihilation, unacceptable. Likewise, appalled by their reputation in the multiverse, Arthur deeply opposed the influence of the Order of the Malefic Viper and Jake as the Chosen of the Malefic Viper. His eventual goal become to drive all Divine factions off of the planet, including forcing Jake to retreat from the planet to remove any influence of the order.
