Attribute Description: [A vestige of an ancient darkness dwells in this Shadow's heart, granting her tenebrous powers.][8]

The [Spark of Divinity] was replaced by the [Ember of Divinity]. The light of divinity and true darkness now coexisted within Saint.[8]

Shadow Abilities: [Weapon Sage], [Underworld Armament], [Mantle of Darkness], [Blade of Darkness].

[Mantle of Darkness]
Ability Description: [Darkness embraces this Shadow. When surrounded by darkness, and true darkness more so, her swiftness and might will increase. Her wounds will be healed, and her heart will grow fuller.]

The physical augmentation of [Mantle of Darkness] and the embrace of Sunny's four shadows resulted in a powerful outcome. Saint was able to heal herself when surrounded by darkness, which was an incredible boon. The last part of the rune description that spoke of her heart could also mean soul, suggesting that Saint's true darkness and essence were linked. The replenishment rate of it would increase.[8]

Saint's abilities were similar to the Black Knight's, but with a serious caveat. She, as an Ascended Devil, seemed to possess dual affinity, both to the shadows and to the elemental darkness. Those were supposed to be mutually exclusive, but were not, in her case. Saint's nature as a Shadow led to a paradoxical result, as she enjoyed the favor of both mundane and true darkness.[8]

[Blade of Darkness].
Ability Description: [The true darkness dwelling in this Shadow's heart can be summoned in the form of a fearsome weapon, as long as the Shadow has mastered the use of that weapon. The Blade of Darkness can slay those of flesh and those of spirit; it never dulls, never falters, and never breaks. Alternatively, the darkness can be summoned to augment a mundane weapon.]

Saint used this ability to fix her sword herself. As [Battle Master] and [Weapon Sage], she could wield any weapon with superb proficiency, and with the [Blade of Darkness], it meant that the true darkness she was a vessel of could take any form. The dark weapon would be as strong as Saint herself, growing stronger if Saint evolved again. It could kill both corporeal and incorporeal creatures and augment existing weapons or weapon-type Memory, making it more powerful and adding an elemental property to its attacks.[8]

Jade Saint

Note: Evolved to Jade Saint after she fought with Mordret's vessel, Castellan, in the Palace of Imagination.[10][11]. She also had unknowingly absorbed the Others's dissolving corpses into herself as eerie mist, unleashing a vortex of Nothing.[12]
Note: Two of her Attributes had evolved, and a new one had appeared (Supreme Rank)[13]
Note: The [Flame of Divinity] grew from a spark into a towering flame.[13]

[War Master]
Attribute Description: "A veteran of countless battlefields, the Jade Saint is proficient in all forms of warfare."[13]

[Battle Master] evolved into [War Master], which has to do with strategy and tactics as opposed to personal combat skill. It was an Attribute fit for a general.[13]

In Chapter 2578, although Saint possessed the [War Master] Attribute, she lacked an efficient means of conveying her authority to her soldiers—a capability she would likely gain upon becoming a Tyrant.

[Vessel of Nothing]
Attribute Description: [Nothing dwells in this Shadow's body, granting her the power of annulment.][13][17]

Saint had gained a measure of control over Nothing, which allowed her to contain it within herself and make use of it to pursue her goals. Apart from her ability to reduce her size and mass the ghostly mist could be used on her new ability [Shield of Nothing].[13] It was also mentioned by Sunny in Chapter 3061 that this affects an area around herself and since Saint usually led the Shadow Legion in battle, shades would be weaken by this.

[Princess of the Underworld]
Attribute Description: [This Shadow has inherited the crown of the Underworld, and with it, the legacy of endless war.][14]

The title refers to the inheritance of the Underworld's crown and the burden of its enduring legacy of warfare.[14]

According to Sunny's understanding, the "crown of the Underworld" is connected to the ancient trials established by Nether. Long ago, Nether bestowed seven suits of armor, known as the Mantles of the Underworld, upon his most flawless creations. These armors were both a gift and a trial, and those who completed the trial were believed to be recognized as Nether's heirs—the Princes of the Underworld, such as the Prince of Darkness, the Titan of Tainted Jade. Sunny himself had completed the same trial, recognizing the name as the enchantment responsible for tallying his victories.[14]

However, all of the Princes of the Underworld eventually perished, having either been destroyed in the endless war initiated by their creator or consumed by Corruption. The last of the seven Princes was slain by Saint. As a result, she was the one who ultimately proved herself worthy of Nether's inheritance, despite not being one of his favored creations.[14]

Unlike the original Princes, Saint never received one of Nether's suits of armor. Instead, she forged her own armor and chose her own path, walking among the shadows through true darkness and nothingness. Sunny remarks that this was fitting for someone created by the Demon of Choice.[14]

Although Saint inherited the symbolic crown of the Underworld, the kingdom she was meant to inherit no longer existed. Its people were extinct, its cities lay in ruin, and Nether himself was dead. Consequently, the crown was "an empty promise"—a symbol of a long-forgotten past that carried great weight, but offered very little to its wearer.[14]

Sunny speculates that the Attribute might provide practical benefits, such as gaining recognition among the creatures of the Underworld or being able to control ancient sorceries left behind by Nether better. However, he believes that its primary purpose is to function as a symbol of her authority—a spiritual mark that proclaimed her status as a Tyrant.[14]

[Shield of Nothing]
Ability Description: [Nothing protects this Shadow, and as long as it does, no one can harm her.][13][17]

Shield of Nothing was not a literal shield rather it was a field of annulment. The field deny every one of their own powers when they face Saint in combat as long as she sustains the Shield of Nothing. The Aspects of Awakened and the unholy powers of the Nightmare Creatures, as well as their Attributes would either be heavily suppressed or outright negated around her.[13]

[Royal Banner]
Ability Description: [Those who fight under this Shadow's stalwart banner are connected to her by the bond of loyalty, and are therefore bestowed the boon of her command. They are vessels of her will and conduits of her power, becoming living armaments for their commander to wield.][14]

Sunny interprets this Ability as allowing Saint to fulfill the role of a general. Those who follow her command are connected to her through a mystical bond, and through her to each other. This enables Saint to command her soldiers directly, allowing any army under her command to act with an extreme level of unity, cohesion, and tactical excellence. Her [Warmaster] Attribute complements this, expressing her profound knowledge of all kinds of warfare.[14]

The Ability's description also implies that soldiers fighting under Saint's banner are enhanced by their connection to her, sharing in her might. They are infused with her Will and inherit a measure of her power. Sunny believes this does not include all of Saint's abilities, since [Underworld Armament], [Mantle of Darkness], [Blade of Darkness], and [Shield of Nothing] are tied specifically to her [Heart of Darkness] and [Vessel of Nothing] Attributes.[14]

Instead, Sunny considers that those under the Royal Banner may inherit a lesser version of [Weapon Sage], Saint's martial Ability. Combined with the battlefield command provided by the [Warmaster] Attribute, this would make every soldier under her command comparable to a seasoned, competent, and gifted veteran. As a result, an army led by Saint would consist of seasoned, indomitable elites, making it nearly impossible to defeat unless opposed by overwhelmingly superior raw power.[14]

Sunny concludes that, in essence, Saint has become a force multiplier capable of dramatically elevating the power of the entire Shadow Legion.[14]
