Death Will is presented as a focused expression of Sunny's killing intent, channeled through both his weapon and his own being.[1]

Characteristics

This Death Will is characterized by determination, fatal resolve, and uncompromising malice, amplified by Sunny's personal hatred and the suffering. It is further described as something deeply emotional and self-sustaining, almost pouring out of his spiteful heart all on its own, driven by accumulated anguish, loss, and an intense desire to kill.[1]

Antithesis

Sunny's Will is imbued with the power of death. Because of this nature, he would be especially deadly when clashing with someone or something whose Will was imbued with the power of life, reflecting the idea that for every force, there is a power that is antithetical to it. In the conceptual battles among beings of higher Ranks, it is not only the magnitude of one's power that matters, but also the nature of that power, and that the same principle applies to Will.[2]

Application

Sunny wielded the power of shadows, the power of death, and that his Will was all about killing intent — it was the will to see living beings die. It is both his natural affinity and a skill he had developed by wielding Serpent, the Slaying Blade, making his Will more effective and efficient when implemented for the purpose of killing. Sunny can wield his Will with focused intent, giving him an advantage even against a higher-ranked being whose Will is elemental and largely directionless.[3]

Because of this, Sunny can infuse each of his soul attacks with the power of Death — with the focused will to see the enemy die, causing that will to slowly accumulate, poisoning the soul of his enemies. Although each individual attack may be insignificant, their insidious quality allows the effect to spread so that all of that vastness was poisoned by the Death Will regardless of its nearly endless nature. Ultimately, as soon as Sunny expressed enough will to kill the enemy to overcome its will to live, the creature was going to die.[3]

Relation to Abilities

The nature of Sunny's Will in relation to his abilities, especially Shadow Dance, which allows him to mimic the Attributes and channel the spirit of other beings. If he were to master all of its steps, he could potentially turn himself into a flawless copy of any living being, including the innate nature of their will. In that case, he would not merely be antithetical to life but antithetical to everything, echoing the nature attributed to Shadow God.[2]

Conduits

The deep wound, the sharp blade of Serpent even its [Slaying Blade] Ability are merely tools, functioning as instruments through which this intent is conveyed. Rather than relying solely on these tools, it was Sunny himself who had to become a weapon, using his sword as a conduit to channel his will.[1]

Limitations

Despite its potency, Death Will is shown to have limitations. When fully exerted, it is compared to trying to drain an ocean with a teaspoon, illustrating that even the complete outpouring of Sunny's will is insufficient against an opponent whose spirit is too vast and elemental. While it allows Sunny to act beyond the constraints of relative power to an extent, it does not guarantee the ability to overcome vastly superior beings.[1]

Chapter Details
2347 Sunny infused each of his soul attacks with the power of Death — with the focused will to see the enemy die — and that will slowly accumulated, poisoning the soul of the Snow Worm.
2362 Sunny used his mastery of Shadow Dance and the transformation of his Will to challenge a being of greater rank. Rather than confronting the Wolf head-on, he invoked the deep memory of a primeval hunter, channeling that ancient essence into himself. Through sheer force of Will, he spiritually transformed, not just mimicking a form but becoming a different being — a vengeful chieftain driven by loss and rage.
2852 Sunny's Will is portrayed as more tyrannical and dauntless than that of the undead warrior (Deathless), both innately and because of Spirit Weave. When the Deathless thrust his rusty sword at him with killing intent meant to cut the very fabric of his being, Sunny steeled his Will and turned his torso intangible, allowing the blade to pass through him. Although the attack attempted to harm him regardless, the killing intent was denied because Sunny's Will was stronger.
2955 Sunny steeled his mind and poured all of the Death Will he possessed through the blade of his sword (Soul Serpent's soul weapon form) as a conduit, willing death and destruction upon the Thieving Bird with more determination, fatal resolve, and uncompromising malice than before.
