Nature's Attendant (real name Tonken Greenheart) is a God of the Life Pantheon. He is recognised as the right hand man of the Primordial Yggdrasil and as having one of the most powerful Bloodlines in the multiverse. He was born with a bloodline that allows him to communicate with plants and cast magic with a nature affinity.

Background

Nature's Attendant was born during the 2nd era and became the 9th god to rise from the Second Universe. He was born into a family of seven that owned a farm and lived off the land. His father was a mid-E-grade, making him one of the strongest people in their village. Tonken was a nature-affinity caster variant and worked the fields to keep their mana rich plants healthy.

Tonken was often in trouble for his inability to use "proper magic". This inability was due to a status on his menu:

*Bloodline Awakened*: [Bloodline of Nature's Attendant (Bloodline Ability-Unique)]- Dormant power lies in the very essence of your being, a unique, innate ability awakened in the human of the 2nd Universe, Tonken. Passively transform the mana in your surroundings into the nature-affinity. All mana transformed to be of the nature-affinity. Any plant affected by your mana will experience greater growth. Innately understand plants.[1]

No one in his village or even the Capitol had ever heard of a bloodline so it was assumed that Tonken was just making excuses for his inability to follow instructions.

At 25, he got an extraordinarily good class. At 30, he took over the farm when his father was called to war, where the elder Greenheart would eventually die. At 42, Tonken was invited to the Capitol to become an attendant at the National Conservatory.

When Tonken was 79, the kingdom went to war. He fought mainly in the back lines and was hesitant to engage until the warring armies reached his old village, which had been razed to the ground, much to Tonken's horror. Infuriated, he called upon the wrath of nature, and nature responded. Exhausted, Tonken then fell into a coma for 19 years. When he finally awoke, he found that he was considered a hero by the masses but was under the suspicions of the King and his generals, all of whom were only C-grade and highly wary of anyone who could wield the level of power Tonken appeared to posses. However, Tonken was protected by his long time friend Brohm, who the King appeared to fear more.

In his 178th year, an empire from the north invaded, killing the king and all his officials. However, when the general came to kill Tonken, he was once again saved by his friend Brohm, who revealed himself to be a servant of Yggdrasil. Together, they left the planet. Eventually, Tonken went to the temple of Yggdrasil where he received her blessing.

Appearance

Nature's Attendant is a tall man with a soft smile. He appears to be older, but still in peak physical condition. He wears simple brown robes and carries a staff with a flower at its tip. [2]

Integration of the 93rd Universe

At the time of the initiation of the 93rd Universe, Nature's Attendant is living in the Pantheon of Life, aiding Yggdrasil and mentoring his granddaughter Dina. He expresses relief when he feels the Malefic Viper, his son-in-law, rejoin the multiverse.[1]

Meeting Jake

Nature's Attendant attends Jake's Chosen Ceremony. After the Ceremony, the two are scheduled time to meet along with the Viper. Jake is advised that although Nature's Attendant is not a Primordial, he may as well be considered one. The Malefic Viper personally advises Jake to be respectful and avoid getting into a power comparison contest with the nature god.[2]

As a bloodline holder, Nature's Attendant is able to sense Jake's bloodline and even has a vague sense of what it's capable of in general. He assures Jake that he will not share any of his insights with anyone. He encourages Jake to support Dina joining his Nevermore team. However, he does make a point of threatening Jake if he should do anything to break Dina's heart.

Relationship with the Malefic Viper

Nature's Attendant is the father of Vilastromoz's late wife. Vilas seems to have deep affection and respect for his father-in-law and the feeling appears mutual with Nature's Attendant being one of the select people who refers to the snake god as "Vilas". When explaining his relationship with Nature's Attendant to Jake, Vilas says "you can say he's my only family".[1] Nature's Attendant makes a point of thanking Jake for motivating Vilas to leave his seclusion. He also questions Vilas about the Yip of Yore situation, wanting to make sure that it was under control.

While Jake and Dina are with the rest of the team at the tryouts, Vilas asks Nature's Attendant to go with him to visit the memorial stones of his family. Nature's attendant agrees and reemphasizes that he does not blame Vilas for what befell them.

Trivia

  • The wooden staff that Nature's Attendant carries is an ancient artifact that is actually sentient and has enough power to kill a being below the level of Godking even without a wielder.[3]
  • Nature's Attendant maintains a personal garden that contains nearly every herb that can be found in the multiverse and a few that can only be found in his garden.[3] This includes a few that he created with help from the Malefic Viper which contain the malefic affinity.
