Caroline

Caroline was a conventionally attractive, slim woman with blonde hair.^[1]

Caroline worked in the human resources department, in the same company as Jacob and Jake. Along with them, she was going to lunch when the Tutorial started.^[1]

During the Tutorial introduction, Caroline chose the class Healer, which would turn out to be a rare and highly sought after archetype in the tutorial. When Jacob took the reins as leader of the small group, Caroline happily followed, showing signs of a burgeoning crush, much to Jake's initial chagrin. After merging with Richard's group, Caroline's healing abilities grant her a great deal of prestige. She is eventually transferred to Richard's elite squad, further distancing her from her co-workers.

When Jake is falsely accused of sparking the war that has led to the two tutorials camps fighting to the death, Caroline finds herself having to choose between aiding Richard in his campaign to frame Jake or stand by Jacob who insists that Jake is innocent. Despite her romantic relationship with Jacob, Caroline chooses to covertly work with Richard to hide the fact that William is the true culprit. Later, she agrees to Richard's plan to set up Casper to be murdered by William.

The breaking point of her relationship with Jacob is reached when Jake makes contact requesting to meet. Caroline insists on going along, supposedly for Jacob's safety, but instead she uses the opportunity to spearhead an ambush on Jake, under the pretense that his death would avenge the murdered tutorial participants. Jake is nearly killed, but escapes. Jacob is furious with Caroline and she tries to pretend first that she didn't know it was an ambush and second that she thought Jake was guilty. Jacob refuses to accept her excuses, reminding her that he'd told her repeatedly that Jake was not the true killer. Jacob demands Caroline give him space and they are not on speaking terms when Caroline accompanies Richard on his final ill-fated campaign.

When Richard confronts the survivors at Hayden's camp, it leads to a huge battle. At the end of the brutal clash, William reveals that he is actually working against Richard. He then immediately attacks Caroline, to ensure that she can't use her healing abilities to save Richard's life. She was blindsided by one of William's skills, impaled from behind, turning her into a metal statue corpse, killing her.

• Regeneration: A passive aura skill that allows allies of the healer to regenerate health faster
• Magic-tool proficiency: Allows user to use wands and other magical items

• In the ancillary webtoon, Caroline says that she used to play online campaigns with her chronically ill-brother as a method of spending time together even when he was hospitalized. She would always choose to play as a healer because it guaranteed that the pair would quickly be added to a party to campaign as few people wanted to play as a non-combatant. She selected Healer in the Introduction, correctly believing that this mindset would carry over.^[2]
• William also strategizes using video game logic. As such, he targets the healer first when turning on their raiding party.
