― Scavenger to Sunny,
Chapter 1042 The Fall of Falcon Scott (60)

The tiny scavenger that Sunny failed to kill at LO49. It was first seen as a starved gremlin trying to eat the carcass of the Corrupted Demon, Myriad Eater.[1]

Description

Initially, the creature looked like a gaunt, starved gremlin that was only as tall as Sunny's knee. It had a mouth full of sharp triangular teeth.[1]

As Fallen Demon

The second time Sunny saw the runt, it was short, barely reaching his abdomen, with dark skin and bone plates covering its scrawny body like a suit of light armor. The goblin did not look too formidable, but it had a wide mouth full of sharp, triangular teeth. It was also missing two fingers on its right hand.[5]

As Corrupted Devil

A creature that emerged from the shadows, was tall and human-like, with jet-black bone plates covering its lithe and powerful body. This dark creature was missing its two fingers and its eyes were burning with cold hatred.[6]

A two-meter tall creature with jet-black bone plates covered its body like a suit of armor, hiding its face behind black bone, which formed a menacing closed helmet. Its dark eyes burned with hatred. The helmet's lower part was split by a jagged line, revealing a maw full of sharp fangs. The creature held a curved sword carved from a long black tusk,  its edge terribly sharp and harder than steel. The abomination had two missing fingers on the other.[4]

The goblin was more of an ogre after it devoured a lot of Nightmare Creatures.[4]

Personality

The creature is a cowardly but spiteful type.[1][3] It was also intelligent enough to swing a sword at Sunny.[7]

The Scavenger was an abnormal creature that gained power rapidly and explosively in Antarctica, consuming the corpses of powerful monsters. It was strangely unreasonable as it pursued Sunny from LO49 across the Antarctic Center fueled by hatred.[8] It gained full sentience after a few short months.[9]

Race Abilities

Scavengers are a type of Nightmare Creature that inherited traits of that which it consumed.[5]

As Corrupted Devil

Fighting the Scavenger was like fighting water, it turned into a shadow to allow blades to pass through. At other times, it's like fighting against an indestructible mountain, with black bone plates which seemed utterly impervious and its blows carried crushing weight.[10] The Scavenger, as a shadow creature of the Corrupted Rank, was vast and dreadful, much more so than Sunny.[9]

History

Sunny aimed to kill the tiny scavenger using Prowling Thorn but at the last moment, it tripped and tumbled down leading to the kunai to only slice two fingers off its hand. It managed to flee due to Sunny being distracted.[1]

The tiny scavenger was actually following Sunny's convoy while stuffing itself with all the corpses and carcasses they left behind. It launched a surprise attack on Sunny, tearing a sizable chunk of flesh on Sunny's side.[5] For the second time, it escaped from Sunny.[7]

Trivia

  • It was initially of a lesser Rank and lower Class at LO49.[1][3] But in its second time facing Sunny, it was a Fallen Demon.[3]
  • This formerly pathetic tiny imp is one of the peerless geniuses among Nightmare Creatures.[10]
  • Sunny received nearly eight hundred shadow fragments and a Transcendent Echo for killing the abomination.[2][11]
