Soul Stealer was one of the Six Plagues or Heralds of the Estuary.[3]

Appearance

...a revolting amalgamation of countless people, countless abominations, all joined together into a monstrous patchwork being that shifted and changed form with every move, every breath, every moment that passes.
— Description of Soul Stealer's soul,
Chapter 1518 Ruin

Soul Stealer was like an amalgamation of countless people and numerous Nightmare Creatures. He resembled a patchwork monster with his body contours constantly changing, as if light refracted upon contact or changing, shifting from one shape to another. According to Mordret, it was simply the shape of its soul.[2]

Ability

Soul Stealer possessed the ability to wear the skin of those he kills.[3] He also had access to Mirror Realm which encompasses an entire city.[4]

Soul Stealer had the ability to slither into human souls and wear their bodies like costumes. He could possess multiple stolen bodies simultaneously.[5]

History

Countless years ago, the forces of Defilement led by the Dread Lord and the Soul Stealer, attempted to destroy Twilight. They broke through the outer barrier and breached the city walls. But a powerful sorcery awakened, swallowing all of Twilight. They were trapped in a frozen time instead.[6]

In Chapter 1508, it was revealed that all Twilight warriors were him.

Trivia

  • In the Third Nightmare, Soul Stealer was the Defiled version of Mordret.[6]
  • Dread Lord and Soul Stealer are in Twilight.[6]
  • Soul Stealer had reached a level of power that Mordret struggled to fathom but it was also brainless. His cunning, foresight, and resolve were more valuable than control over a million clumsy flesh puppets.[7]
