Meira Dawnleaf

Meira has a timid and easily cowed personality. In her clan, her father was the ultimate authority and he was allowed to use his children as assets. He was attempting to negotiate payment for an arranged marriage when both he and Meira were captured and enslaved.

Meira arrived at the Order after an extended period of being tortured with experiments to make her suitable for helping an alchemist. She was desperate to please her new master and didn't know what to make of his unusual behavior. Even though Jake encouraged her to forge her own Path, the lack of control over her life some times makes Meira gullible and easily manipulated.

Thousands of years before the integration of the 93rd Universe, Meira's Clan was a power house led by a B-grade Matriarch. But that all came to an end after one of their Clan's Explorer Party found a Spatial Mine and reported it to the Brimstone Conglomerate hoping for a large payout. Instead, the Brimstone Conglomerate invaded the planet and slaughtered the Clan Matriarch and half of the Elders. The remainder of the Elders were enslaved and the clan was reduced to toiling under one of the Branches of the Brimstone Conglomerate.

Meira's Father was a peak D-Grade but still relatively powerless when compared to their Brimstone overseers.

Meira was taken to a meeting by her father. A Young Master of the Branch took a liking to her, but before her father could secure payment for the arranged marriage, the Brimstone Hegemon was slain by The Malefic Viper and the Order of the Malefic Viper attacked the Conglomerate Branches, enslaving the populations. Meira was captured and subjected to a number of extremely painful experiments to push her to D-Grade and prepare her to serve a member of the Order.

Meira's captivity coincided with Jake's enrollment in the Academy of the Order of the Malefic Viper. She was assigned as his personal slave. Jake was initially enraged at the idea of having a slave and immediately wanted to free her but later accepted the reality that maintaining his ownership was the only way to protect her. However, he steadfastly refuses to treat her as a slave and sets her own the path to freedom and full membership with the Order.

Eventually, Meira's dedication to her studies and her strong potential as a healer attracted the attention of Duskleaf. He worked to bring her alchemy to his high standards and eventually granted her his True Blessing, completing her monumental journey from slave to Chosen.

Requirements: lvl 140+ in any humanoid race.

• Meira attends Nevermore with a group of high performers from the Altmar Empire. Duskleaf admits that the group is probably more talented than Meira's abilities warrant and that it is likely that she was placed in the group in hopes of currying favor from Duskleaf and Jake. However, Duskleaf saw no issue with accepting the shameless pandering since it benefited his Chosen.^[4]
• Meira brews tea as a way of practicing her alchemy. In Nevermore, while on Minaga's City Floor, she was able to sell her brews to earn her exit fee. By her own account, her tea was very popular.^[5]
