Jakob—not to be confused with Jacob or Jake—was a prominent figure among the dissenting city leaders who opposed the emerging world order after the first World Congress. A staunch advocate for Secularism, Jakob harbored deep resentment toward the influence of the blessed and their divine patrons.
During the infamous Treasure Hunt, Jakob rallied 117 D-grades and launched a coordinated ambush on Jake and his party. Using an enormous magic barrier, they successfully trapped their targets. Jakob took the opportunity to gloat, mocking Jake and deriding him as “the most prominent slave of the gods,” a jab aimed directly at Jake’s role as the Chosen of the Malefic Viper.
Despite Jakob’s power—among the strongest Jake had faced at the time—things did not go as planned. The ambush quickly devolved into a massacre. Jakob and over half his army met a brutal end.
Jake walked away satisfied, not just with the victory, but with the fact that there’d now be one less confusing name to remember.
