The 9 Circles of Hell are a special set of Minor worlds, similar to Venus or Yalsten.[1]Each circle is utterly gigantic, large enough for demons to be born and reach godhood without ever setting foot in the outside world. Each circle represents a sin and symbolizes aspects of the founding Devil's Path.[2]
Background
Demons are primarily natives of the 9 Circles of Hell, with each circle inhabited by a different subspecies and ruled by a devil, family or clan. These rulers of the Nine Circles are referred to as nobles, and status has a huge significance in demon culture. However, demon lands can be found anywhere the demonic affinity exists.
The 9 Circles exist in a separate dimension, accessible from all the universes far more easily than another universe. The 9 Circles were created by nine powerful Devils who combined their divine realms into a safe haven for their kind. The different Circles have their own unique environment, such as the 4th circle having the lightning affinity and the 2nd being a land of dreams and illusions.[2]
During the 6th era, the System took over and turned the 9 Circles of Hell into a World Wonder. A quite unique one at that, as it’s more or less its own separate universe filled solely with demonic energy and owned by the demonic races.
The leaders of the 9 Circles together are known as the faction, the Nine Hells.
