Sunny's Father

Sunny remembered his father as more of a feeling than a person—"big, quiet, strong, and caring."^[1] According to his mother, the father had a mischievous side and a hot temper beneath his calm facade.^[1]

Sunny didn't remember his dad too well, because he was too little when he passed away.^[3] He treasures the memory of their parents and finds solace in sharing these stories with Rain, ensuring they are remembered. He acknowledges that Rain may not feel the same connection, as she now has adoptive parents, but he values her knowing their shared history.^[1]

• He worked as part of a city barrier maintenance crew, a dangerous job that led to his death in an accident shortly after Rain was born.^[1]
• His choice to work as a maintenance worker instead of joining a local gang reflects his strong character and commitment to providing for his family.^[1]
• Sunny suspected Rain's interest in infrastructure and building might be inherited from their father.^[1]
