Relatives
Anvil
Morgan's relationship with her father is deeply complex, marked by admiration, resentment, and eventual disillusionment. For Morgan, her father is both a formative influence and a symbol of the constraints she had to overcome to find her own identity.[1]
More Details
As a child, Morgan revered her father. She recognized his genius as a warrior, sorcerer, ruler, and artist, viewing herself as his most promising creation—a blade forged with the utmost care to become flawless. She took pride in being the focus of his hopes and carried the responsibility of meeting his expectations with devotion.[1]
Morgan understood her father better than most. While others saw him as a tyrant or a hero, she saw him as an artist consumed by the desire to create perfection in an imperfect world. She accepted her role as part of his artistic vision, believing in his purpose despite his harshness. Her defeat in Antarctica became a turning point. Having flawlessly followed his training and still failed, Morgan realized that the fault lay not with herself but her father’s teachings and the mold he tried to impose on her. This revelation led to disappointment and resentment, as she recognized his inability to accept imperfection and his failure to see her as more than a tool.[1]
Ultimately, Morgan rejected her father's vision for her. She refused to be a blade wielded by another's hand, her refusal to be merely a tool for someone else’s ambition. While she acknowledges his impact on her life, she chooses to define her own path, free from his control.[1]
Mordret
When Mordret returned to Bastion when he was ten or eleven, having conquered his First Nightmare. Morgan was initially happy but soon realized there was something wrong with the eerie boy, who had taught her fear.[2]

Athena
Morgan was continuously perplexed by Effie, especially due to her whimsical and grandiose suggestions, like blowing up a dam to defeat the enemy. Morgan finds such ideas impractical and nonsensical, particularly given the nature of the enemy’s forces. Despite this, she acknowledges Effie's compliment and decision-making, though she remains somewhat confused by Effie’s approach.[5]
Kai
Morgan thinks of Kai as surprisingly shy, despite her initial assumption that, as a former entertainment star, he would be accustomed to such situations. She found his sense of decorum to be better than most noble Legacies, which she thought was both funny and disheartening, especially since he is the "noblest" of them. She also felt frustrated that, despite having just bathed, Kai somehow managed to look cleaner and more put-together than she did.[6]
