Blessing of War

The transformation associated with the Blessing of War manifested within Effie's soul. A profound transformation occurred in her Soul Sea, where a vast island rose from beneath the undulating waves. The island had tall mountains rising to the sky, clear rivers running through its plains and valleys, and green saplings sprouting from rich soil. The barren island was swiftly covered by forests, meadows, groves, and grasslands, while flowers bloomed and the branches of the trees bent under the weight of ripening fruit. Its thriving abundance was filled with exuberant and inexhaustible vitality, which infused Effie's entire being and clashed with the plague that consumed her in a vicious war.^[1]

The Blessing of War was also connected to Effie's understanding of the path of War God. Remembering the children she had trained with in her Second Nightmare and how they had endured harsh cruelty and the Kingdom of Hope together until all of them were gone and she alone remained, Effie recognized War as "the eternal struggle of all living things — the struggle to stay alive, to live. To thrive." Even while suffering from the plague and being pierced by arrows, she refused to surrender to death and continued struggling to survive.^[1]
