Great Desolate

Birth place of The Malefic Viper. The desolation consumed much of the continent it inhabited, creating no-go zones. The concept of desolation was weak enough for D-grades to travel relatively effortlessly around the edges, but it grew more powerful as the center was approached.

Adjacent to human lands, many efforts were made to identify the source of the desolation and stop its spread, but to no avail for many years.^[1] Eventually, the First Sage created a magic formation that was able to contain the desolation and stop its spread, earning him his title from the grateful Emperor of his country.
