A divine artifact and part of the Sovereign Gate's Key, one of the five treasures of the first Ikosian Emperor, Shutur-Tarana.

The imperial orb, like all other pieces of the Key, has two functions. The first one, able to be used by anyone at any time, is that the orb is a massive pocket dimension, containing a palace full of treasures (although they've mostly broken down and become useless because of the great amount of time the orb remained lost to civilization)[1]. The pocket dimension utilized in the Imperial orb is a self-contained pocket world anchored to the orb itself[2]. The pocket dimension can only be accessed when the orb isn't in portable form.

The pocket world is powered by some sort of mana battery inside of it, which provides enough mana for it to remain stable indefinitely. It contains a teleport platform, although it has broken down, and is the greatest pocket dimension shown in the story[1]. Silverlake claimed that the pocket dimension method used in the orb can be completely replicated by a human mage.[3]

The second function of the orb, available only to the Controller inside the time loop, is that it contains a huge memory bank. It is not limitless, but the Guardian of the Threshold claims that the Controller could upload their whole memory to the orb as well as everything they experienced in a fully-lived time loop, and the orb would still have free space inside of it.[1]
