The Queen's pilgrims are a cunning and insidious form of reanimated Nightmare Creatures, neither alive nor truly dead. While they lack souls and the "vile darkness" typical of living abominations, they are bound by a foreign essence, akin to a puppeteer's strings, allowing them to act under the Queen's control. These creatures are designed for stealth and deception, feigning death convincingly by sustaining realistic injuries to infiltrate enemy territory undetected.[1]

Despite the Ki Song's usual inability to send her creations beyond the boundaries of her Domain, these pilgrims bypass that limitation, demonstrating a strategic and adaptive approach. Their purpose is highly specific and deadly—they were sent to the Sword Army's material storage not for general sabotage but to assassinate Tyris of the White Feather clan, whose visits to the warehouse were predictable. When activated, the pilgrims are highly dangerous, launching coordinated attacks with precision and leveraging their physical power and the element of surprise. Their presence underscores her ingenuity and her ability to exploit vulnerabilities within enemy lines.[1]
