"You will stay, human. I feel your power and find you worthy of remaining here with me as my consort. My human form is closing in on perfection, and once it is finished, we shall breed children, and you will give me new and more powerful spawns than the ones you have killed. See it as paying recompense… and a privilege.”—Isoptera Hive Queen, to Jake Thayne
The Isoptera Hive Queen was a termite hive queen of the Endless Empire who held a Greater Blessing of the Fourth Desert Queen[1]. Her hive, located on Earth, not far from Haven, was attacked by Jake while he was collecting cores for his ritual that lead to the creation of Vesperia. The Hive Queen had a Path focused on healing and reproduction.[2]
Appearance
She had a humanoid female upper body with generous proportions, a termite lower half, long hair, insect-like eyes, and brownish skin.[1] Jake describes her voice as oddly sweet, hinting at a passive mental skill.
Story Summary
Jake first encounters the queen while invading her hive. The Queen is initially very haughty, declaring that the Endless Empire has claimed the planet, but they were willing to allow humanity to avoid war by giving them a very small area of Earth to live on in exchange for all divine forces leaving the planet immediately. Of course, Jake rejects the offer and counteroffers to go get someone like the Sky Whale who can negotiate on the hive's behalf for termites to be allowed to stay.
The Queen refuses as she has decided that given the tangible power radiate from Jake's Records, he will remain there and be her consort, helping her breed powerful spawns in recompense for the number of termites he has killed. When Jake refuses, she, her Hive King, and her queens guards attack. Jake, however, ended up being a much tougher fight than anticipated. After her petrification skill fails to kill the human, she decides to use her ultimate skill, one that was powered by her own death, in order to ensure Jake's death in the safety of the hive and the Empire.[3] Unfortunately and unbeknownst to her, this attack failed as well.
