The difference between soulbound and shadowbound Memories is subtle and not entirely important. Sunny was able to master crafting soulbound Memories but he invented his own method to achieve a similar result which resulted to shadowbound Memories.[1]

Forging Process

The forging process combined both physical and dreamlike elements. In the real world, the sword's physical vessel must be forged using rare materials and Sunny's blood. Simultaneously, within a dream, one need to weave soul essence strings. The spellweave was anchored not to a soul shard, but directly into the Soul Core. Unlike static enchantments, it was crafted to be a "living" weave, matching the relic's nature as a dynamic and learning entity.[2]

Using Weaver's Needle, one must connect the relic's weave to the soul, merging the physical and spiritual into one seamless entity by stitching the shadow of the relic to the owner's shadow.[3]

Trivia

  • There is a limit to how many relics could be bound to a person's soul. For most humans, the limit was one, as a single soul could not accommodate the anchor of more than one weave. For people like Nephis and Sunny, however, the limit was greater, possibly because they were not technically people.[4]
  • A relic bound to a soul became as integral as any part of it, so if the relic was destroyed, the soul would be harmed, perhaps irreparably.[5]
