- The Holy Church follows a path of community driven faith, altering souls upon death to elevate followers to the Holy Land—but only if their souls are unmodified by other means.
- The Risen are a race of enlightened beings created through transformation, forming a race-bound faith. Their altered souls make them incompatible with the Holy Mother’s blessings or those of any god in her pantheon.
- The Vampiric Path, created by the god Sanguine, represents a third soul-bound faith system. Vampires, like the Risen, have altered souls and thus also cannot be blessed by the followers of the Blightfather like the Undying General, nor the followers of The Holy Mother like the Lodestar Matron. And they cannot become Risen. Sanguine further innovated by making vampirism spreadable via rituals, potions, and items.
The three soul-altering systems—baptisms, blessings, Risen transformation, and vampirism—are mutually exclusive and in permanent conflict due to fundamental incompatibilities in their divine mechanics.
