Race Level

Spoilers ahead: this article covers the full story.

For monsters and beasts this is their level. For enlightened races like humans that can possess both a class and a profession this corresponds to the average of the class and profession levels. When identifying another creature the level displayed is their race level.

Newly integrated races begin at G-grade, but automatically advance to F-grade at level 10. Anyone born into the system is automatically F-grade at birth.

Reaching grades higher than D requires an evolution quest unless they are a member of a higher level race that reaches full maturity above that grade. The most famous example of this is High Elves. Elves require a quest to advance to C grade, but High Elves advance to C-grade without any difficulty and get an evolution quest for B-grade. Many powerful species of monster can advance to higher grades without needing a race quest, but no known Enlightened race can reach B-grade without one.

Race Levels
Grade Levels Notes
G-grade 0-9 This grade applies only to newly integrated races
F-grade 0-24 This is the first grade for all born into the system
E-grade 25-99
D-grade 100-199
C-grade 200-349 Evolving to C-grade requires a quest for most races
B-grade 350-499
A-grade 500-749
S-grade 750-999 The last rank before godhood for mortals

Beyond the S-grade, races enter the divine grades and become immortal. Concerning the immortal grades we know little. The 4th layer of divinity is where one becomes an intermediate God. Above peak gods are Godkings/Godqueens at the 10th layer of divinity. There are ranks above Godkings/Godqueens. It is unknown what level the Primordials have, but they are above gods who are above Godkings.
