Bound Gods are gods born out of objects or places. They are real in every way but lack free will and Truesouls. They instead are limited severely, most often serving a specific function rather.[1] Bound Gods are in charge of World Wonders, but not necessarily the supreme rulers over the Wonders. They are representatives of the System, which often grants them greater powers than even the strongest gods, but not without limitations. Both Nevermore and the Exalted Prima acknowledge that they are privy to exorbitant amounts of Forbidden Knowledge in order to properly administer their World Wonders, but they are no more allowed to share that information than anyone else.[2] Some believed Bound Gods to be apparitions of the system, like the Guide. Others believed they were creatures born to run certain places or serve as protectors of some zones.

One key reason for a Bound God to exist: deterrence. Most World Wonders in the multiverse are claimed and controlled by factions. But wonders with a Bound God are different. A Bound God often has total control over their designated Wonder. As such, even if they are weaker than a god, they still have the ultimate defense of merely making the Great Wonder useless by stopping its functions, the ultimate leverage in forcing compliance.

Destroying a Bound God is impossible unless you are also willing to destroy the associated Great Wonder. Destroying a Great Wonder is sure way to make an enormous number of extremely powerful enemies, quickly. Some Bound Gods and their Wonders have been destroyed throughout history. However, it is incredibly rare, because once lost, it is lost forever and considered a major setback for the multiverse. It is multiversally agreed that everyone would rather begrudgingly get along rather than lose access to such a valuable resource.
