The Dread Warriors were the elite thralls of Azarax within his great Horde, created through his ability to share his power with them. They formed the elites of his great horde and were tremendously deadly, while also emanating a debilitating aura of dread that weakened and paralyzed enemy soldiers.[1]

It was because of the Dread Warriors that Azarax's conquest had become so unstoppable, with many kingdoms surrendering to him without a fight simply because their soldiers were too terrified to raise their weapons against him. During the siege of the Mason's city, Azarax and his Dread Warriors launched ceaseless attacks for more than a year, yet failed to conquer it.[1]

Trivia

  • The Dread Warriors were Azarax's elite thralls within the Steel Horde, the horde was commanded by Azarax, the Plague of Steel[2]. They are a specific unit empowered by Azarax's Aspect.[1]
  • In the Fourth Nightmare, their aura of dread was countered by Effie's ability to inspire and empower her warriors, Kai's ability to command courage and strength with his voice, and Seishan's eerie ability to change chosen followers by infusing them with her blood. Combined, these three Aspects made the aura of dread ineffective while also augmenting the defenders of the city, granting them far greater strength.[1]
