Dr. Saint is the therapist of Detective Sunless in Mirage City Noir.[1]

Appearance

She was a strikingly beautiful and aloof therapist, described as a taciturn beauty whose looks were as dangerous as her sonorous, enthralling voice.[1]

Personality

In the story made by Castellan in Mirage City, she lived a strictly regimented life that she treated as a work of art, approaching each day with forethought, discipline, and precision.[2]

She maintained an impassive, stone-faced demeanor, often studying Sunny in silence and speaking only, when necessary, her words carrying a commanding weight. Despite her cold and distant exterior, she demonstrated a sense of principle, insisting on continuing therapy beyond mandatory sessions because she disliked leaving things unfinished. Elegant and composed, she carried herself with effortless grace, offering Sunny her personal card with a refined gesture that revealed both exclusivity and quiet authority.[1]

A disciplined and refined woman whose sense of order, routine, and personal standards clashed harshly with her current circumstances. Normally accustomed to luxury, she woke up in an abandoned church on a hard bench, deprived of her orthopedic bed, cotton bedding, and carefully chosen pillow. Exhausted, bruised, and disheveled after a violent encounter, she found herself grumpy and uncomfortable — a rare state for her. Her usual morning ritual of exercise, hygiene, and balanced nutrition was disrupted: she was too injured to train, lacked her skincare and haircare products, and was forced to face a box of unhealthy, processed food that she considered "poison". Despite her frustration, she remained polite, declining food with restraint, though inwardly she wrestled with the uncharacteristic urge to lash out. Her meticulous nature extended to her knowledge of weapons; when the detectives fumbled with a revolver, Saint calmly identified it as a Smith & Wesson Model Ten, explained its caliber, and reminded them of gun safety. Though she downplayed her skills, she admitted to holding a marksmanship certificate and training for coordination, which betrayed her deeper competence in combat. Reluctantly accepting the weapon for self-defense, Saint revealed a side of herself that contrasted her polished, aloof demeanor: beneath her elegance and self-discipline was a capable, pragmatic fighter, quietly unsettled by her new reality but unwilling to lose composure.[3]

Reveal

Dr. Saint lived a strictly regimented life that she treated as a work of art, approaching each day with forethought, discipline, and precision. She began her mornings before dawn with an hour-long exercise routine, followed by meticulous personal hygiene, skincare, and hair care, and then ate a simple, healthy breakfast while reviewing scientific articles and news. Her life was orderly, from preparing her wardrobe in advance to maintaining silence during her commute. At work, she spent time studying patient files before seeing clients with calm professionalism, taking detailed notes, and conducting rounds in a secure inpatient wing. Even when skipping meals was suboptimal, she prioritized her pride as a professional over convenience. Beyond the hospital, she rented a private office for certain patients, including Detective Sunless, whose broken but competent nature drew her in despite his disheveled appearance. Though she was surprised by the odd sense of connection she felt toward him, she respected his brilliance and diligence, recognizing in him a dark, destructive mirror of the same careful artistry with which she lived her own life.[2]

In her office, Saint discovered with growing alarm that Detective Sunless, appearing more unstable than ever, claimed to be a demigod called the Sovereign of Death and insisted she was his Shadow, leaving her convinced he had descended into dangerous delusion and regretting continuing the session at all.[4] She saw through the detective’s attempt to use her, dismantled his ruse with clinical precision, and ended their sessions with a cold warning he dared not test, yet though she left resolute in her principles, the act of walking away left her with an uneasy sense of having done something wrong.[5]

In her late-night session with the volatile Miss Morgan left her unsettled, especially after Morgan displayed an eerie lucidity and hinted at knowing "that man", but as Saint left the hospital reflecting on balance and the patient's worsening condition, she was suddenly attacked outside, a thin cord tightening around her neck.[6] She was ambushed by three assailants and nearly strangled to death before desperately fighting back and fleeing, only to be cornered—until Detective Sunless suddenly arrived in a black car, violently intervened, and confronted her attackers with a deadly promise.[7] Detective Sunless brutally dismantled the two armed assailants with terrifying precision and calm ruthlessness, leaving Saint eerily composed in the face of such carnage, only for their exchange afterward to drift into unsettling normalcy as he questioned why she had ignored his calls and she coolly replied it was simply outside her working hours.[8]

Saint lured Mordret into a secluded part of the hospital under the guise of speaking privately about his sister, only to deliver him straight to Detectives Sunless and Athena—finally pressing a revolver to his back herself and, with resigned displeasure, declaring that she too was kidnapping him.[9] Sunny, Effie, and Saint kidnapped the Other Mordret under the guise of "protective custody", but while Sunny tried to confront him about his true identity and origins, Mordret feigned ignorance with unsettling composure—only for their escape to be cut short when unmarked cars began tailing them on the freeway, revealing that assassins were already in pursuit.[10]

Sunny recklessly outdrove three pursuing cars through Mirage City's rain-slicked streets with insane maneuvers and near-suicidal stunts—leaving Saint grim, Mordret exhilarated, and himself increasingly frustrated—only for a fourth enemy vehicle to suddenly appear and slam into their PTV at full speed.[11] Saint emerged battered but composed, calmly executed six assailants with flawless headshots, and masked her moment of shaken humanity beneath an expression of cold indifference.[12] After executing six assailants with cold precision, Saint was left shaken and confused—only for their corpses to dissolve into mist that merged into her body, unleashing a vortex of eerie power that bent reality itself, and leaving Sunny stunned as he realized she had just regained a fragment of her true Awakened strength.[13]

Sunny confided in Saint about the mastermind behind the killings, expressed gratitude for her constant presence and their long history together, and after some reflection, Saint agreed to help him bring the culprit down despite not knowing why.[14]

Trivia

  • In Chapter 2498, Sunny, Morgan, and Saint sought shelter in a ruined church, where Effie arrived unexpectedly—only to be stunned when introduced to Saint, realizing that the terrifying onyx knight who had always loomed at Sunny's side was, in fact, a breathtakingly beautiful woman.
