Giant brown salamander

Giant Brown Salamanders are a species of magical creatures that do not die from old age. They are fairly weak, however, and rarely reach a hundred years. They naturally possess a sort of regenerative essence that allows them to regrow any part of their body that has been lost, as well as repair any damage done to them, and if they are carved carefully enough both halves will regrow into healthy, functional copies.

Because of their strong regenerative essence, a hundred-year-old, whose regenerative essence has by that point reached the necessary concentration, is one of the main ingredients of Silverlake's youth potion.
