The Demonic Contract

It was the ability to make a contract with those significantly weaker than themselves, allowing the contractee to pull on their power and, in extreme cases, even allow the demon to possess them or someone else for a limited time, making them far more powerful.

This was a very common path to power for demons, and these contracts could take many forms.
